If I want to live a certain way and have things outside myself support me in those endeavors, I must believe in them by living with them. By existing along side with what I see worth living for. Even if there is an attractive avenue beyond my sights, the finite amount of time has me placing bets on experiences that are certain.

They yield plenty, and the only requirement is persistent attention. Those attractive unknown paths

along the way are optional, and I have no desire to discover them. The risk is no longer exhilarating, and neither is the possibility for something better than I can fathom for what actually is has more value since it’s attainability is conceivable.

Contrary to this personal revelation is a reminder that nothing is guaranteed, and yet I consider it still worth the strife.

Getting as far as you can is more admirable than continuing to discover alternatives to the alternatives in a cyclical fashion. Constantly beginning again without direction only to find dead ends that are justified with the witticism, “the journey is just as valuable as the destination”. But there never is a predetermined place, just the end of where impulse meets practicality.

Opening doors just to see what lays behind it is pushing your luck, especially when some already open can satisfy your passion for living. Each door that is opened risks the degradation of what already is.

My will to live is based on arriving, not constant departures. Arrival is somewhere fixed, whether that is literal or an experience one wants to maintain.

Time is scarce and I’d like to reach the places I have in mind without delays. Time, the most valuable commodity, is used flagrantly by most who are guided by distractions justified as valuable experiences since our impulses are used against us. We stagnate ourselves by passively watching others do what one ought to be doing. Being inspired and motivated is a threshold that is constantly surpassed to cause guilt that can be easily remedied by continuing to watch and observe.

Giving more time away vicariously is no substitution for your own arrival of how you live. And staying in the same place can only be temporary before it is a disservice. Assuming all is well and can be sustained without any attention will only lead to an acceleration of ruins.

Living can only be if you live it and will alter if not persistent. Lack of participation in the external, which has carried you forward this far, is only sustained with you, not without.

Deviation from living a certain way and believing you can go back at any time will cause all that surrounds you to fall. It is the individual who supports the external to stay material as long as one is present as a participant and a witness. It’s the only way to keep things from suddenly vanishing.
